Volunteering at the Terra Canis Dog Sanctuary is a truly rewarding experience for anyone who loves dogs and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of rescue dogs. Nestled in the serene Alentejo region, between Reliquias and Colos, the sanctuary is surrounded by stunning landscapes of rolling hills, olive groves, and a peaceful rural atmosphere. The Sanctuary is 1 Hektar and surrounded by a lovely picturesque landscape. People living close-by believe it is a sacred land and filled with healing energy.

Currently, volunteering is open to those living locally, as we are unable to provide accommodation. However, if you have a campervan, we may be able to arrange a spot for you to stay. Volunteering activities include feeding, walking, and socializing with the dogs, as well as helping with general upkeep of the sanctuary grounds. As a volunteer, you’ll become part of an incredible team, surrounded by like-minded dog lovers who share your passion for making a difference. You’ll gain valuable experience in community building and learn with us what it means to work together for something truly meaningful. If you’re new to the Alentejo and looking for a way to settle in, volunteering with us is the perfect way to start. Join us and be welcomed with open arms as a new member of our dedicated team!

If you’re interested in joining our Volunteer Team, we encourage you to reach out to Julia via Facebook or Instagram or Telegram for more information. We are happy to answer any questions and guide you through the next steps. Come and be part of our compassionate community, where your efforts will make a meaningful impact on your own life and the lives of our amazing dogs.
